Stuttgart's holiday trade fair is back in style / Full halls and satisfied exhibitors / Outdoor areas in demand.
At 10 a.m. sharp, the CMT opened its hall doors and visitors poured in in droves. "For two years, no real CMT took place at the Stuttgart exhibition center," said Roland Bleinroth, Managing Director of Messe Stuttgart, during his opening speech on the atrium stage, "and we had to wait a long time for this moment - but it was worth it." The CMT is fully booked down to the last square meter. 1621 exhibitors in ten halls present their destinations, regions, vehicles and products. The partners are also represented with a varied supporting program as well as with elaborately designed stands: the partner country Mongolia, the Federal Horticultural Show BUGA 2023 in Mannheim, the Black Forest National Park region and the AG Landurlaub Baden-Württemberg.
The CMT is one of my very personal trade fair highlights
"I am very pleased that after a two-year break, Messe Stuttgart will once again be the venue for CMT - the world's largest public trade fair for tourism and leisure. The CMT is one of the flagships of our state trade fair. It is the most important industry get-together for all those who work in the caravan, motor and tourism sectors or are interested in them. This is where trends become visible to make travel more attractive, more pleasant and increasingly more sustainable for all of us. 'Tourism in transition – Opportunities for Baden-Württemberg' is therefore not only the main theme of the Baden-Württemberg Tourism Day 2023. The change can be seen and experienced in a very concrete way at this trade fair. The CMT is one of my very personal trade fair highlights and a reflection of the impressive performance of Messe Stuttgart and the entire tourism industry in the state," said Dr. Nicole Hoffmeister-Kraut, the Baden-Württemberg Minister for Economics, Labor and Tourism, on stage.
Offers in the hiking area were also in high demand
A look inside the halls also made it clear that interest in caravanning is high. Campervans in particular were well received, but the motorhomes on display from numerous well-known manufacturers also attracted interested looks from visitors. A sample was laid, the seats tried out, fitted kitchens examined and, of course, the diverse range of offers compared. Tourism in the region is very much in vogue, as the rush of visitors to Oskar Lapp Hall 6 made clear. Lively discussions took place at numerous stands and brochures kept finding their way into the tote bags of the visitors. Lots of outdoor action was offered in Hall 9: on the bike course, young and old raced through the exhibition hall and tested different bikes. Offers in the hiking area were also in high demand. The special fair for cycling and hiking trips has been extended by one day and runs until Monday, January 16th.
Conclusion: The first CMT day whets your appetite for the next few days of the trade fair.
