Our texts, images galleries and blog articles as part of our project had led to new contacts in Shkoder, Salona and in Omis and since we had agreed with Dr. Krickl about participation in the Roman festival in Brunn am Gebirge, we left the Lake Ohrid. At least for a certain period of time.

As a first stop we had arranged to meet with the local operators at a campsite in Shkoder, who had also signaled great interest in our project in general and especially with regard to possible winter guests.

We met on a spacious campsite right at the lakeshore, which also had a long wooden planks bridge to spare guests the somewhat muddy shore zone and to allow swimming in the deep water.

Here is a detail of handcrafted, wooden bridge to illustrate the construction of the whole camp. Similarly designed was the restaurant on the banks, which had a very good restaurant that we could enjoy the evening.

The individual plots are generously covered with straw mats, to provide sun protection. Even the toilet facilities and the entire reception showed high quality and absolute cleanliness. You can notice the place of European know-how and management. We agreed with the operators for the beginning of October to discuss further steps.

Early the next morning we went into the direction of Podgorica in Montenegro. The border crossing presented itself as a real challenge, so crowded and partly chaotic it was released, but was also at the desultory many driving commuters. After crossing the tourist stronghold Budva we reached the ferry across the narrow passage of the Bota Kotorska at Lepetane.

Here we spend 8.50 € for a fee of the ferry to avoid the long way around the bay, although the landscape positively invites for circumventing what is, of course, associated with several hours of serpentine driving.

Dense forest to the banks of the area, in between small villages, which have been preserved until today, although Montenegro is increasingly touristy attractive and thus full. Clearly, the many new buildings can be seen here in the picture.

The view into the bay is at least a little of the impressive size, which widens after the narrow left and right on many kilometers.

After the ferry crossing we went on to Dubrovnik until in the early evening we reached our destination with the Roman town of Salona, today Solin, where our Croatian friend Robi invited us for a meal in a great atmosphere in the evening.
