Fine Sandy Beach of Karaincir next to Bodrum
- Written by Portal Editor
About 16 km southwest of the centre of Bodrum and somewhat hidden by two mountains, lies the small town of Karaincir with its approximately 500-meter-wide fine sandy beach, which is one of the best in the region,
because Karaincir Plajı is a very fine sandy beach. It is characterized by its shallow waters, which extend about 150 meters from the shore. This makes it an ideal place for families with children, non-swimmers and snorkelling fans.

Despite its idyllic location and natural features, Karaincir Plajı can get quite crowded during the summer months due to its popularity with tourists. Visitors should be aware that a significant portion of the beach appears to be reserved for guests of the nearby resort hotels.
In the area around Karaincir Plajı, visitors can explore the Karaincir Islands, which are known for their natural bays, clear sea and surrounding beauty. These islands, which consist of small islands and rocky areas, offer opportunities for water sports activities such as swimming, diving and boat tours.
This bay is one of the attractions for the stopover of daily boat tours. The many small fish restaurants lined up on the beach are happy to welcome people from the boat tours, but many Blue Cruises boats also stop here.
The village of Karaincir has always been known for the large quantities of figs produced here. With the transformation into a holiday resort with the first hotels and small leisure facilities, this transformation has continued in recent years into a rapidly growing holiday centre. In the area, the single-family houses with their well-kept, colourful gardens are particularly worth seeing.
