A customer visit had taken us to the Weil am Rhein area, an opportunity that we naturally wanted to use to explore the region. So we had found accommodation at the entrance to Weil, which should enable us to walk through the Rhine via the well-known Dreiländerbrücke (French Passerelle des Trois Pays).

Although the Eurobike and Outdoor Fair were the official occasion of our visit to Friedrichshafen this time, the central city on the northern shore of Lake Constance and the county seat of the Lake Constance district has much more to offer.

Very extensively we had visited archaeological sites from Greek and Roman antiquity during our camper-cultural trip, had discussed their dissemination areas and cultural achievements, and had repeatedly encountered the Celts and their cultural assets.

After our visit of the Celtic Museum in Hochdorf, Rainer led us along the biking route to the outskirts, where there is a huge Celtic hilltop, which was reconstructed after the excavations.

Our tours along the Celtic cycle path finally brought us to the Hohenasperg, thecastle mountain, which was already settled during the Stone Age and by 500 BC was even a Celtic princely seat with an escape castle.
