Ludwigshafen - from politics to poetry to think about

For the ninth time, the "Turkish Festival Week" will be presented in Ludwigshafen at the end of March 2014 with a lot of light poetry and instructive and interesting world views.
The theater in the Pfalzbau is the setting for the concept, which consists of numerous individual events.
The Ludwigshafen poet Hasan Özdemir, who will be presenting his volume of poetry "Geschälte Satzen" (peeled sentences), will be the start of this year's series of events. The poet Özdemir, known under the term "Anatolian Palatinate", will perform on March 25 at 7:30 p.m. in the Theater am Pfalzbau.
Already on the following day, March 26th, 2014, also at 7.30 p.m., the Bavarian-speaking German-Turkish cabaret artist Django Asül will appear on the stage. In his program "Paradigma" he deals with politics in general, society and individuals in particular.
For younger visitors aged four and over, a Bedouin tent will provide the setting for the German-Turkish fairytale game "You and I" on March 25 at 9:30 a.m., 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. and on the following Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m form clock. Once again, viewers on the studio stage should be shown how communication can work. A second play for children from the age of five entitled "The Wolf, the Lambs and the Little Goats" will be offered on March 27 at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.
For the somewhat more mature visitors there is a concert with the Turkish singer Mehtap Demir and her 6 musical companions on March 28th at 7.30 p.m. under the motto "Turquaz". Mehtap Demir will take visitors on a virtual journey through Turkey, presenting folk music as well as his own compositions.
On March 29th at 7.30 p.m. the comedy "Art" comes to the Theater im Pfalzbau. In Turkish with German subtitles, the long-standing friendship between three men is put to the test in the play. The background to the ordeal is the purchase of a painting.
Finally, on March 30th at 8 p.m., this year's festival week ends with the highly explosive subject of the NSU. During the NSU trial, the German-Jewish author Esther Dischereit collected thoughts and observations that she will present as "lamentations" in the program "Flowers for Othello - About the Crimes of Jena". Esther Dischereit is accompanied in her program by DJ Ipek Ipekçioglu with electronic music. Ipekçioglu will also present the translations of the texts.
