The countdown has begun: The CARAVAN SALON is getting closer and closer and will once again attract caravanning fans from all over the world to Düsseldorf from August 30th (Preview Day) to September 8th, 2024!

778 exhibitors will present a huge variety of motorhomes, caravans and campervans on 250,000 square meters.

Varied program for mobile leisure

In addition, visitors will find accessories, extensions, tents, mobile homes, holiday destinations and camping and motorhome pitches in 16 halls and the outdoor area. This year, too, the CARAVAN SALON DÜSSELDORF will offer an informative and entertaining program with special shows, specials and many events in addition to the exhibitors' offerings, which will make a visit to the Düsseldorf exhibition center a real experience.

Preview Day with Opening & Livestream

alpine concept car 5The CARAVAN SALON 2024 starts on Friday, August 30th, with the Preview Day. Thanks to the limited tickets, those interested can view all the vehicles and new products in peace in an exclusive atmosphere, receive detailed advice from the exhibitors and enjoy the premiere of the leading trade fair. Open Air "Starter World"

The popular Starter World is the first address for everyone who is just discovering mobile travel for themselves. This year, the popular special show is open air in the open-air area between halls 10 and 16 and helps beginners to find their way around the extensive trade fair offering and find the right vehicle. The independent experts and experienced campers answer questions and are happy to pass on individual experiences and solutions to beginners. In addition, a varied stage program provides even more information and inspiration. Interesting short presentations and interviews on caravanning practice, vehicle selection, functionality, vehicle rental and much more offer real added value.

Adventure of self-conversion

citroen camping 3Whether it's modernization, repairs or a complete vehicle conversion: the DIY community is in the right place in the "Adventure of self-conversion" area on the stand in the open-air area FG 14-03. The special show, which is organized in cooperation with the magazines explorer & VANderlust, offers professional advice and expert knowledge to ensure that your own project is a success. Several self-converted recreational vehicles show what is possible. Daily presentations for beginners, advanced users and professionals provide information on important topics such as electrics, solar and gas, heating and cooling, roof hatches, liquid gas systems, self-sufficiency, cabin construction, floor plan knowledge and draw attention to the ten biggest mistakes made when converting a vehicle yourself. Under the motto "Self-builders welcome", numerous exhibitors from the Technology & Components (Halls 13 and 14) and Equipment & Outdoor (Hall 3) sectors invite visitors interested in self-build to visit the stands and look forward to presenting the corresponding DIY offers for the conversion of a vehicle.

Sample parking space in the open air

This year, the Caravaning Industry Association is once again presenting innovative solutions in the field of parking space technology and infrastructure in a special exhibition on the open air area between Halls 10 and 17. Specialists and manufacturers will use concrete examples to demonstrate how the successful planning and operation of motorhome parking spaces works. Visitors can get advice directly from experts on site.

Ross Antony and Paul Reeves at Bürstner

IMG 20200208 175709The German-British entertainer Ross Antony will be giving a small unplugged concert for trade fair visitors together with opera singer Paul Reeves on Sunday, September 1st at 2 p.m. at the Bürstner stand in Hall 6 / D03. The Bürstner brand has been cooperating for several years with the likeable media stars Ross Antony and Paul Reeves, who travel as brand ambassadors in the Copa campervan between concerts.

Kart track in front of Hall 9

In cooperation with Knaus Tabbert AG, visitors can experience the fascination of electric karts live during the daily opening hours between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. A small kart track will be set up between Halls 5 and 9, where up to six visitors can try out the electric karts at the same time.

ADAC is looking for the "Camper of the Year 2024"

mobiles arbeiten 01For the third time, the ADAC is looking for the Camper of the Year 2024 in the final on Saturday, September 7th, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the open-air area in front of Hall 10. Campers were able to qualify for the final on the exhibition grounds in 14 preliminary rounds across Germany. The finalists have to complete various tasks in the areas of driving precision, skill and camping knowledge. In addition to the important topic of driving safety, the "ADAC Camper of the Year 2024" also focuses on fun. The winners of the regional preliminary rounds received a ticket for the nationwide final at the CARAVAN SALON in Düsseldorf on Saturday, September 7th. First place will be rewarded with a camping trip to Canada worth more than 8,000 euros.

Rally for children

Variety is guaranteed at the rally for children in Hall 7. Children and families can get active at various stations. A rally pass takes you to the photo wall, the jumping fun and the big game of skill. Creativity is required during a painting activity. Things get tricky with the quiz, the animal tracks game and the magnetic wall. And the best part: While the children are having fun, families can explore the exhibition hall 7 with the Travel & Nature area at their leisure. The participation passes are available in hall 7 at the German Hiking Association at stand D21 and at the participating stations.

Fantastic caravanning trips and fast-paced EOFT films

In the dream tour cinema in hall 1 / 1st floor (room 16), viewers can experience exciting caravanning destinations again this year. Konstantin Abert, Janette Emerich and Uwe Hamm show visitors impressive impressions of dream countries near and far. The entertaining shows include the following destinations: Iceland & Faroe Islands - A dream of fire and ice, the Silk Road in your own motorhome, the Pan-American Highway - South America from Tierra del Fuego to the Caribbean (Part 1), the Pan-American Highway - Central America from Panama to the USA (Part 2), motorhome experience Turkey - From the Bosporus to Ararat, France - From the Loire to the Atlantic, Transafrica - From Cairo to Cape Town and Patagonia and Tierra del Fuego.

Faster, higher, further - that is the motto of the European Outdoor Film Tour (EOFT). On the "Travel & Nature CONNECTED" stage in Hall 7, the EOFT crew will give a glimpse of the spectacular diversity of outdoor and adventure sports on Friday, September 6th at 6 p.m. When the protagonists get going, the world is turned upside down - and so is the screen. The EOFT film experience is free for visitors to the CARAVAN SALON

Trial show with Tom Öhler and meet & greet with Leonie Meyer

The Austrian bike trial top star Tom Öhler will show his tricks and stunts in the obstacle course (open-air area in front of Hall 10) in two shows at 12 noon and 3 p.m. After his performance, Tom Öhler will be available at the EuroCaravaning stand (Hall 1 / A01-06) for an introduction and an autograph session. On Sunday, September 1st, Formula kiter Leonie Meyer will be available for a meet & greet for trade fair visitors at the EuroCaravaning stand (Hall 1 / A01-06) at 11 a.m. The 31-year-old sports soldier, doctor and mother from Kiel successfully completed her first Olympic start in Paris and was only unfortunately eliminated in the kitesurfing semi-final. Converting a motorhome is one thing, but what is it like to travel around the world in it? Sabine Hoppe and Thomas Rahn spent six years traveling around the world in an individually converted vintage truck on one of their many tours. They crossed 54 countries on five continents, crossed 75 borders and covered 120,000 kilometers. In a live photo report, Thomas Rahn tells us about the two eventful journeys through Southeast Asia and North America in Düsseldorf. The Far East and the Far West are both dream destinations for a tour in your own camper. Just as the two parts of the world are in stark contrast to each other, the reality of traveling there is just as different. At the CARAVAN SALON on Saturday, September 7th, Thomas Rahn will be speaking in the open-air area in front of Hall 14 (Stand 03, special exhibition Adventure Self-Conversion) from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. about the beautiful, exciting and also challenging moments of the journey through Southeast Asia and North America. He will provide insights into the unexpected hurdles that await on such a journey and the tricks and tips that can be used to find ways to continue the journey even in seemingly hopeless moments. Trade fair visitors can look forward to a very special show of contrasts.

E-bike course in front of Hall 15

Cycling is one of the favorite hobbies of many caravanning fans. E-bikes in particular are very popular and are often used for tours between the campsite and the destination. In the open-air area in front of Hall 15, the "E-bike course" offers visitors the opportunity to try out the driving characteristics of electric bikes, e-scooters and electric scooters in a separate area.

Fun and action for kids

Even the youngest ones will get their money's worth at this year's CARAVAN SALON. As in previous years, a great program with hands-on activities, fun, games and lots of highlights awaits the young visitors in the open-air area in front of Hall 16. The Düsseldorf City Sports Association is transforming part of the open-air area into an exciting adventure park on both weekends. Children and young people can let off steam to their heart's content with the varied fun and sports activities.

Holiday routes to the CARAVAN SALON

Geli 3When the caravanning community makes its way to Düsseldorf from the end of August, the journey (or departure) in a motorhome or caravan can become a special experience thanks to selected routes. For the third time, selected holiday routes in Germany and Europe are presenting themselves at the CARAVAN SALON as part of a joint stand in Hall 7 (Stand 70D38). This year, the following routes are present as sub-exhibitors: the "Baden Wine Route", the "Bergstrasse", the "German Fairy Tale Route", the "Route of Delights", the "Road of Emperors and Kings" and the "German Wine Route Network". The holiday route network is the bundling of the most beautiful theme and holiday routes into a unique source of inspiration and service offering to experience Europe away from the motorways by car, motorhome or motorbike under the motto "Slow Travel". On the Travel & Nature CONNECTED stage, Klaus-Peter Hausberg, Managing Director of FERIENSTRASSEN.INFO, will be speaking about his tours with wonderful picture journeys every day at 3 p.m. as part of his lectures - and will also reveal one or two "building blocks for the path to happiness" to visitors.

On Saturday, September 7th, at 2 p.m., author Sandra Schulz will present her camping column "The Monster and I" on the "Travel & Nature CONNECTED" stage in Hall 7 and read from her book "Monster Tours". Sandra Schulz has received awards including the Helmut Stegmann Prize and the Axel Springer Prize.
