laerm des lebens 3On average, around 50 percent of visitors to the Leipzig Book Fair are under 30 years old.

Experience has shown that they are drawn primarily to the stands of LYX, Vajona, WondaVersum, Bücherbüchse and Chest of Fandoms, but also to the major publishers such as Droemer Knaur and Piper as well as the publishers of Penguin Random House. To ensure that the atmosphere remains pleasant despite the high number of visitors and that everyone can enjoy a pleasant and safe trade fair experience, the Leipzig Book Fair has distributed the offers for New Adult fans across several halls.

As expected, the stands with the most visitors can be found in Halls 2, 3 and 4. But Hall 5 also invites you to stay longer. Here, the independent publishers, the general publishers and self-publishing providers such as NovaMD as well as the exhibitors in the new children's book area present a very varied range of products worth seeing.

Find a favourite book where you would never have looked for it

lepziger buchmesse 03"The Leipzig Book Fair should also be a place for spontaneous discoveries and encounters - a place where you can really feel and experience the colourful diversity of reading and book culture.

Our new hall concept is an important part of this. Instead of strictly delimiting the exhibition by topic, we have deliberately chosen a broader distribution.

We want our visitors to be carried along and inspired. So that they can discover new and unexpected things, even far away from their original interests.

This is how happy coincidences happen, this is how exchanges happen," says Astrid Böhmisch, Director of the Leipzig Book Fair.

Crowd puller at the book fair: the New Adult readings

Beril Kehribar is also coming to Leipzig with "The Torn Heart", the finale of her Dark Enemies to Lovers trilogy "Empire of Sins and Souls". Bianca Iosivoni takes the audience to the moors of Scotland with her New Adult thriller "bad vibes. Your secrets never die." Tami Fischer has another German finale in her luggage.

New adult authors such as Kathinka Engel, Laura Labas, Carina Schnell, Sarah Stankewitz, Antonia Wesseling and international stars such as Samantha Young are expected there in Hall 4 F300.

To ensure that all visitors feel comfortable, the waiting areas are located in the respective halls. Entertainment is also provided there, so that the time in line passes as quickly as possible and becomes part of the overall experience.

Optimization of the hall concept reflects developments in the book market

weil ukraine 2The classification of the New Adult format at the Leipzig Book Fair as a target group rather than a genre and the comprehensive hall layout also correspond to developments in the book trade: At the end of 2024, the German-language product group system was adjusted so that in the future new releases and backlist titles for New Adult, Young Adult and entertainment can be more clearly identified in the book industry's systems. This simplifies the distribution and marketing of genre literature and shows its high importance.
