Matty Ellis from Australia - The Ellis Collective

"Matty Ellis is the front man of award winning Australian Indie six-piece The Ellis Collective.  Heralded as 'one of the most intelligent, compelling and honest male singer-songwriters to emerge in along while" (Rhythms Magazine), his distinctive sound is both undeniably unique and unmistakably Australian. 

No stranger to a festival stage, he has won over crowds at Australia's most iconic festivals including Woodford, Groovin' The Moo and The National Folk Festival.  His emotionally charged live performances have taken him around the globe, working alongside  the best in the business including fellow Aussies Gotye and Washington, US folk-punk legends Tom Gabel (Against Me!) and Chuck Ragan (Hot Water Music) through to international favourites Data Rock and House of Pain.  His debut album 'Means What It Means' by The Ellis Collective is out 11 July 2011.

We are very proud, that we could win Matty Ellis, frontman of Australian "The Ellis Collection" next to German "Backdoor Connection" and Turkish Rappers Serin & Kodes for the opening ceremony of this year XCTurkey Series in Karaman in June 25th. We are happy to enrich our cultural frame program in a more international direction.
