Sezen Aksu was born July 13, 1954 as Fatma Sezen Yıldırım in Sarayköy, Denizli, Turkey. At the age of three her family moved to İzmir, she finished high school and began studying at the local agricultural institute. Because of first success in music, she left college without degree.

Turkish folk music is not only heard at special folk evenings for tourists at the beach resorts, it can be heard at certain traditional events. Still a part of Turkish society, folk music is played at marriages in the villages as well as during evenings for dancing.

Serin Karatas, who has brought a new taste to Turkish Rap Music with his music and vocal records, made his first record in 1998. During our explorations in the Weimar and Jena region, we came across traces of the "Bauhaus" that is so well-known in architecture, but were then surprised to find an offshoot of this well-known training and further education center in Dornburg.
